On October 6, 2009 a very special Health Fair event for Fulton County mature adults and caregivers will be happening at St. Casper Catholic Church – Parish Life Center in Wauseon. “Road to Wellness” is the first annual healthcare and wellness conference being sponsored by the Fulton County Aging Consortium which consist of healthcare providers and senior support agencies throughout Fulton County.  Stafff from Fulton County Health Center will be there providing free blood pressure screening for those in attendence. 

This year the conference is titled, “Mapping Out Health Care Decisions”. The conference will be held on Tuesday October 6, 2009 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at St. Casper Catholic Church – Parish Life Center in Wauseon. In order to reserve lunch for the day, tickets must be purchased in advance at your local senior center site or the Fulton County Health Department. Lunch is $3.00 for anyone 60 and older and $5.00 for 59 and under.

The purpose of the event is to help educated Fulton County’s senior population on health care concerns, insurance, financial assistance, health programs, drug/prescription interactions, Medicare information and much more. Visitors will have the opportunity to hear presentations on timely health topics and can view displays regarding local services within the county. Flu shots at a fee of $20, which can be billed to Medicare, and blood pressure screening will be available to participants. The Master of Ceremonies will be a local favorite Mel Krill with informative speeches given by Daniel McKernan M.D orthopedic surgeon at West Ohio Orthopedics & Rehab, Bill Friend (OSHIIP – Ohio Department of Insurance), Kathy Birr (Better Business Bureau) and Matt Gerig (Yoder Family Pharmacy).
